Igwe Hyacinth Edeani Applauds Custos Care Foundation’s WASH Sensitisation in Amaechi-Idodo In a bid to promote better Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices, Custos Care Foundation took its sensitisation campaign to Amaechi-Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area, where the team was warmly received by His Royal Highness, Igwe Hyacinth Edeani, Ezeoha I of Amaechi-Idodo, Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Nkanu East. Welcoming the delegation, HRH Igwe Edeani acknowledged the significance of the initiative and commended Custos Care Foundation for its commitment to improving hygiene and sanitation standards in communities. He highlighted the crucial role of awareness campaigns in fostering healthier living conditions and encouraged continued efforts in engaging rural communities. The event featured an address by the foundation’s Managing Director, Comrade Egodi Igwe, who highlighted the foundation’s impact under the leadership of its Founder, Her Excellency, Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah. She reiterated Her Excellency’s unwavering commitment to improving public health through sustainable interventions that ensure access to clean water and better sanitation practices. A presentation by Dr Ikechukwu Chidolue, representing the Enugu State World Health Services Organization, underscored the vital role of WASH in disease prevention and overall public health. Additionally, Mrs Chioma Dick-Emmanuel, Technical Adviser to the Governor on WASH, led a session on ending open defecation, stressing the need for improved sanitation facilities and collective responsibility in maintaining hygienic environments. The interactive question & answer session allowed residents to voice their concerns and seek practical solutions to sanitation challenges in their community. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a shared commitment to embracing healthier hygiene practices. Through sustained advocacy and collaboration with community leaders, Custos Care Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that every household in Enugu State has access to clean water and proper sanitation.
